Tar Heels Extend Win Streak to Seven, Defeat Maryland 93-81

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Antawn Jamison scored 21 of his 29 points in the first half as 12th-ranked North Carolina continued its strong push to the top half of the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 93-81 victory at number 14 Maryland.

Serge Zwikker added a season-high 24 points for the Tar Heels (19-6, 9-5 ACC), who have reeled off seven straight wins since an 80-73 setback at Duke on January 29th. North Carolina also avenged one of its worst home defeats in school history. The Tar Heels blew a 22-point, second-half lead against Maryland on January 8th in an 85-75 defeat.

North Carolina moved into a tie with Maryland for third place in the ACC, one game behind Wake Forest and two behind front-running Duke.

Keith Booth scored 20 points and Obinna Ekezie and Sarunas Jasikevicius added 14 apiece for Maryland (20-7, 9-5), which has lost five of its last eight games.

North Carolina holds a 101-44 lead in the all-time series.
