As a junior in 2004: Member of competitive cheer team that placed second at NCA Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.

As a sophomore in 2003: Member of Maryland's first competitive cheer team... received Terrapin Award for embodying all of the qualities of the ideal Maryland cheerleader.

As a freshman in 2002: Participated in NCA Nationals with Terrapin Spirit Squad that finished sixth overall.

Before Maryland: Graduated from Hereford High School in Millers, Md., in 2002... lettered three times in varsity cheerleading... squad won Baltimore County Championships her sophomore and junior year... finished third at both county and regional level senior year, making the first time in Hereford's history that the team placed in the region... captain senior year... named National Cheerleading Association All-American... performed in London's New Year's Day parade as a UCA All-Star... sports editor of her high school newspaper

Personal: Jennifer Carr...daughter of Martha and George Carr... has one sister, Sarah, and one brother, Ryan......enjoys reading, politics, spending time with her family and traveling... says competing at the national level in college, cheering at the 2002 Peach Bowl and having her parents see her compete last year at nationals as her biggest athletic thrills... majoring in print journalism and minoring in government and politics... aspires to be a reporter on Capitol Hill.
