The Terrapin Cup is an annual LifeSkills competition that all teams have an opportunity to compete and has been hosted by the Department of Athletics since its inception in 2002. The Terrapin Cup provides all sport programs and participating student-athletes an opportunity to compete for points in predetermined LifeSkills categories focusing on leadership, teamwork, academics, and Maryland PRIDE initiatives, just to name a few. The goal of the Terrapin cup is to emphasize life outside of academics and athletics while promoting civic leadership on campus, in the local, state, and global communities.
At the end of each academic year, the men's and women's teams with the highest LifeSkills point totals will be named that year's Terrapin Cup winners and celebrated at the end of the year Athletics Awards Banquet.
