On Peters: A tough competitor who displays great talent with his racket strokes ... is very quick and anticipates well ... has great ability on the doubles side, racking up more career doubles wins than any of his teammates in his first two years as a Terp ... is continually working on improving his all-around game.

Fall 2003: Showed great improvement during the fall season, especially in doubles ... participated in all three fall tournaments ... saved the best for last, clinching the Flight A singles title at the 2003 Penn Classic with partner Ian Bliss

Spring 2003: Tied with two other Terrapins with the most singles victories (11) ... finished the season above .500 with a 11-9 record ... usually filled the No. 5 position for the Terps ... won nine out of his first 11 matches in his first year as a collegiate tennis player ... paired with then senior Chris Chiu, to record an 8-4 record as the Terps No. 1 doubles team for a majority of the season.

Fall 2002: Teamed with senior Chris Chiu in doubles play... the duo clinched the Flight A doubles title at the D C Metro Championships ... in singles action, he saw action in all three tournaments in the fall, and was a Flight B quarterfinalist in the East Coast Championships.

Before Maryland: Attended St. John's High in Shrewsbury, Ma. ... two year letter winner ... 22-1 at the No. 1 singles positon both junior and senior year ... achieved a USTA national ranking of 83 in Boys 18 and under ... ranked fifth in New England in 18 and under.

Personal: Gregory Scott Peters ... born March 1, 1983 ... son of Pamela and George Peters ... lists his favorite athlete as Tiger Woods because of how he has changed the sport of golf ... hobbies include cars, music, sports, and girls ... prefers to be called Scott, but is nicknamed Scooter ... majoring in letters and sciences ... biggest athletic thrill was competing in the ACC tournament because it was very competitive, yet fun ... the people he admires most are his parents because of all they have done for him ... chose Maryland because of its academic and athletic reputation.
