JORDAN BECOMES ALL-TIME FRESHMAN RUNNER AT MARYLAND
True freshman LaMont Jordan, an ACC Rookie of the Year candidate, rushed for 126 yards against N.C. State on November 8 to become the leading freshman runner in Maryland football history. Jordan enters todayis game versus Georgia Tech with a school freshman record 592 yards on a school freshman record 134 carries. Jordan broke the previous record held by Steve Atkins (491 yards, 1975) with a 30-yard run in the second quarter against the Wolfpack. The record had stood since 1975 when Atkins led the Terps in rushing.
JORDAN'S 126 YARDS IS THE SECOND BEST ALL-TIME
True freshman LaMont Jordan, the ACC Rookie of the Year candidate, gained 126 yards against N.C. State on November 8 - the second highest rushing total by a freshman in school history. Jordanis total was only nine yards short of the rookie standard that he set earlier this season against Temple on September 27. His 126-yard effort tied him with Steve Atkins in the single game Maryland record books.
Freshman LaMont Jordan's 44-yard scoring run against Florida State is a team high for the season.

JORDAN'S 22 ATTEMPTS BREAKS HIS OWN RECORD
True freshman LaMont Jordan, an ACC Rookie of the Year candidate, set the single-game school freshman record for rushing attempts in a single game with 22 against N.C. State on November 8. He broke his own record of 21 which he set against Temple on September 27.
JORDAN BECOMES FIRST WITH TWO 100-YARD RUSHING GAMES
True freshman LaMont Jordan, the ACC Rookie of the Year candidate, became the first freshman in school history to rush for 100 or more in multiple games during his inaugural season at Maryland.
CHEESEBORO WRITES HIMSELF INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Omar Cheeseboro became the second freshman in school history to catch multiple touchdown passes in a single game. Cheeseboro was on the receiving end of Brian Cummingsis Hail Mary, 46-yard scoring pass at the end of the first quarter against N.C. State and caught a 31-yard scoring strike from Cummings early in the fourth quarter against the Wolfpack. It marked the first time that a Maryland freshman had two touchdown receptions in the same game since Walt Williams grabbed two against Virginia Tech on September 25, 1993. It also marked the first time that a Terp receiver had two touchdown receptions in a single game since Mancel Johnson had two catches for scores against North Carolina on September 9, 1995.

CUMMINGS PLAYS RECEIVER
Senior quarterback Brian Cummings gained his first career pass reception in the third quarter against N.C. State on a pass from senior Buddy Rodgers. Cummingsi 38-yard reception brought the ball to the N.C. State four yard line where Rodgers scored on a rushing touchdown on the very next play. It marked the first time a Maryland quarterback had caught a pass since Frank Reich was on the receiving end of a Stan Gelbaugh pass against Wake Forest on September 29, 1984.
TERPS SECOND HALF OFFENSIVE OUTPUT AGAINST N.C. STATE IS TOPS
Maryland's 254 yards of total offense in the second half against N.C. State was its highest single half total of the season. It marked the second time during the season the Terps had gained at least 200 yards of total offense in a single half - previously the Terps had gained a season high of 244 yards in the first half against Wake Forest.

SANDERS WITH HIS FOURTH INTERCEPTION
Sophomore Lewis Sanders recorded his fourth in interception of the season against N.C. State to move into a tie for the ACC lead. Sanders also recorded two tackles for minus six yards during the game. His ten total tackles on the day give him a career-high 69 for the season - good for third place o the team. He also leads the Terps defensive back in tackles.

Senior Buddy Rodgers completed his first career pass attempt against N.C. State when he hooked-up with Brian Cummings for a 38-yard gain. It marked the second time this season that a Terp tailback had attempted a pass - earlier this season LaMont Jordan threw once against North Carolina.

CRUZ TO BECOME SECOND FRESHMAN TO LEAD TERPS IN RECEIVING
Redshirt freshman Moises Cruz, who leads the Terps in receptions with 25 for a team leading 296 yards is looking to become only the second freshman in school history to lead the Terps in receptions in a season. Cruz is looking to join only current Tennessee Oiler Frank Wycheck who led the Terps in receptions with 58 during the 1990 season as the only two players to lead the Terps in receiving as a freshman.

Freshman Brian Kopka kicked a career-high four point after touchdown attempts on four attempts against N.C. State. It marked the first time that at Maryland kicker had kicked four PATis in a single game since Joe OiDonnell kicked a perfect seven-for-seven against Wake Forest on October 19, 1996.
