Terps' Ogbogu Named Pre-Season First Team All-ACC/Honorable Mention All-American

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- University of Maryland senior defensive end Eric Ogbogu has been named to the pre-season First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference and Honorable Mention All-America teams by Football News. Ogbogu was a Honorable Mention All-ACC selection following the 1996 season and will help lead the Terps defense which ranked 29th nationally and fourth in the ACC in total defense last season.

Ogbogu (Tarrytown, N.Y./Archbishop Stepanic) will help anchor the Terps defensive front from a defensive end position. Ogbogu is a two-time All-ACC selection who finished fifth on the team with 64 tackles and was the team leader with seven sacks. He also contributed a team-high 15 tackles for minus yardage.

Season and single game tickets for the 1997 Maryland football season are available to be ordered. Tickets are available for all six exciting Maryland home games including North Carolina, West Virginia, Clemson and Virginia.
