Honored Terps
The Maryland football program has produced numerous national and postseason award winners

Jack Scarbath was a runner-up for the 1952 Heisman Trophy, Dick Modzelewski (1952) and Randy White (1974) won the Outland Trophy, and E.J. Henderson captured the Chuck Bednarik and Butkus Awards in 2002.

In addition, the Terps have also had four national coaches of the year – Jim Tatum (1953), Jerry Claiborne (1974), Bobby Ross (1982) and Ralph Friedgen (2001).
