Postgame Notes

Georgia Tech 33, Maryland 13

As a Freshman (2012): Played in two games at quarterback after taking over for the injured Perry Hills ... saw first collegiate game action against NC State (10/20) ... entered the game with 0:32 remaining, down 20-18, and drove Maryland 61 yards on three plays ... sandwiched completions of 17 and 33 yards with an 11-yard run to setup a 33-yard field goal attempt that would have won the game ... started against Boston College (10/27) and threw for 240 yards, including a long pass of 66 yards ... became just the fourth freshman starter at quarterback in school history in that games (Randall Jones, 1998; Latrez Harrison, 1999; Perry Hills, 2012) threw for two touchdowns against the Eagles ... tore his ACL on the final drive against the Eagles and missed the remainder of the year.

At Blue Ridge High School: One of the top-rated players in South Carolina ... ranked 15th among players in the state and No. 26 nationally among pro-style quarterbacks by Rivals.com ... rated No. 12 overall in the state and 22nd nationally among pro-style signal-callers by 247Sports.com ... the 30th-rated overall QB prospect in the country by Scout.com ... passed for 2,722 yards and 33 touchdowns with only seven interceptions as a senior ... also had three rushing TDs in 2011 ... led the Tigers to a 8-3 record and the South Carolina Class AAA playoffs as a senior ... an honorable mention all-state pick in 2011 ... quarterbacked the South Carolina team in the 2011 Shrine Bowl ... finalist for South Carolina Mr. Football ... passed for 2,680 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior ... finished high school with over 7,600 yards passing and 78 passing touchdowns in only 31 games ... also recruited by Wake Forest, Clemson, and NC State ... coached by Wade Cooper.

Personal: Born in Chattanooga, Tenn. ... parents are Dave and Janice Rowe ... has three siblings, Joseph, Chris and Lauren ... enjoys playing the piano and guitar in his free time ... lists Drew Brees as his favorite NFL player...undecided on a major.
