National Honors
In addition to racking up Tewaaraton Awards, Maryland student-athletes have also become accustomed to filling up their trophy cases with additional hardware by being honored nationally by the IWLCA and Honda.

Jen Adams garnered the Honda Award in 2000 and 2001 and was tabbed IWLCA National Player and Attacker of the Year three times from 1999-2001. Adams was Maryland?™s first two-time ACC Female Athlete of the Year in 2000-01.

In total, Maryland has won a staggering 26 national player of the year awards.

Terrapins once again earned national prestige in 2012 as Katie Schwarzmann repeated as IWLCA National Midfielder of the Year and Iliana Sanza was named the top defender.
