Academic Success
Not to be outdone by its success on the field, Maryland has also seen incredible success in the classroom.

The program has been frequently chosen for public recognition by the NCAA for being among the top 10 percent of programs in the nation in Academic Progress Rates in its respective sport.

Maryland has had eight CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, including the squad’s latest award winner, Caitlyn McFadden, in 2010.

Katie Schwarzmann tallied the program’s fourth consecutive top ACC scholar honor in 2012. McFadden (2009, 2010) and Laura Merrifield (2011) preceded Schwarzmann.

Additionally, Kristy Black, Melissa Diepold and Bria Phillips garnered ACC All-Academic Honors.
