#5 Terrapins to Host Pink Game Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The fifth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team will host its annual Play 4 Kay Pink Game at Monday’s 7 p.m. game vs. Penn State at XFINITY Center.

For tickets to Monday’s game or for a season ticket package, log on to the Terrapin Ticket Office online at umterps.com or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP. Parking will be free and open in all of the lots surrounding XFINITY Center.

Survivor Recognition

The Terrapins will honor breast cancer survivors during halftime of the game. Breast cancer survivors can register here to receive a complimentary general admission ticket and participate in the halftime recognition.

Cut-A-Thon

The Terps will host a Cut-A-Thon at halftime with hair donations benefiting the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign providing free wigs to women affected by hair loss from cancer treatment. A minimum hair donation of 8 inches is required. All Cut-A-Thon volunteers will receive a complimentary haircut courtesy of Shear Pleasure Salon. Silent Auction featuring Under Armour Power in Pink

There will be a silent auction at the Marketing Table near Gate A featuring Under Armour Power in Pink apparel. The auction will begin at 6 PM and close at the end of halftime. All proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Fans are encouraged to support the cause by donating to the Maryland women's basketball Play4Kay team page at play4kay.org/marylandterrapins and help further the efforts of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to fight women's cancers by raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved, and unifying people for a common cause.

$5 Tickets for Fans Who Wear Pink

The team will be sporting pink in support of breast cancer awareness and fans are encouraged to do the same. Fans who wear pink to the game can purchase $5 general admission tickets at the Terrapin Ticket Office on game day.

About the Kay Yow Cancer Fund…

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.

The Terps have won 17 straight games since the beginning of December. Maryland won a school-record 24-straight games from the end of the 2005-06 season through the beginning of the 2006-07 season.

The Terps are 58-29 (.667) all-time against their 2014-15 Big Ten opponents. Maryland has won 23 straight games against Big Ten teams, dating back to 2007. In the 13 years under Frese, the Terps are 26-4 (.867) against their new conference opponents. Frese is 38-10 (.792) all-time vs. Big Ten opponents, which includes her time at Minnesota (2001-02) and at Ball State (1999-01).

Next, the Terrapins will travel to Wisconsin (8-16, 4-10) Thursday for a 9 p.m. ET matchup that will be televised around the world on the Big Ten Network, BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app.
