Cummings Named National Player of the Week

BALTIMORE - After notching 12 points in two wins last week, junior Taylor Cummings was named the National Player of the Week by ILWomen.com, the publication announced Tuesday.
In a 14-7 win over UMBC, Cummings notched four goals and added one assist. She also recorded eight draw controls and caused two turnovers.
In a 10-7 win over No. 5/6 Syracuse, Cummings led the team with six goals and one assist as the Terps defeated the Orange, 10-7. The Ellicott City, Md., native also notched eight draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls, and went 2-for-3 on free-position shots.
Cummings is currently first in the Big Ten in draw controls/game (6.40) and caused turnovers/game (2.00) and second in the conference in goals per game (3.80) and points per game (4.80). She leads the Terps with 19 goals, 24 points, eight ground balls, 32 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers on the season.
The Terps take a short trip to Towson Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hosting No. 7/5 Florida Saturday at noon.
