Court Named Master Strength & Conditioning Coach

FORT WORTH, Texas - Maryland Assistant Athletic Director for Football Sports Performance Rick Court will be named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).

This honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession, and the ceremony will highlight the association’s National Conference. Court with be presented with his blue MSCC Jacket on May 5 at the Fort Worth Omni Hotel.

"This is an incredible honor for Rick,” said CSCCa Executive Director, Dr. Chuck Stiggins. “Being named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach signifies a commitment to the student athlete, the University of Maryland Athletic Program, and the strength and conditioning profession. We are honored to have Coach Court as a member of our association and to have him join the ranks of the Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches. He is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional.”

In order to receive this certification and corresponding title of distinction, Master Strength and Conditioning coaches must meet all of the CSCCa criteria and have been a full-time, collegiate, and/or professional strength and conditioning coach for a minimum of 12 years.

"This is an honor that I'm truly humbled by," said Court. "It's always nice to be recognized for the work that you do, but when you are acknowledged by your peers, that is very special."

Currently 156 collegiate strength & conditioning coaches have received the prestigious certification of Master Strength & Conditioning Coach and Court will add to that total on May 5.
