Taylor Named National Rookie of the Week
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After posting an incredible performance against Northwestern to open Big Ten play, freshman goalie Megan Taylor was named the Inside Lacrosse National Rookie of the Week, as announced by the publication Tuesday.
Against the Wildcats, Taylor made a season-high 11 saves while allowing just four goals, good for a .733 save percentage. She also picked up two ground balls.
Taylor also made three saves in a nonconference game vs. Cornell.
The Glenelg, Md., native leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally with a 6.12 goals-against average. She also leads the conference with a .468 save percentage on the season.
The Terps return to action Wednesday against Johns Hopkins (8-5). Opening draw is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
