Durkin Speaks at Boy Scout Distinguished Citizen Awards Dinner

BALTIMORE, Md. – Maryland Head Football Coach DJ Durkin served as the keynote speaker at the 37th Annual Henry A. Rosenberg Distinguished Citizen Awards Dinner, held Monday night at the Marriott Waterfront Baltimore.
“The Boys Scouts develop and cultivate leaders,” said Durkin. “It’s an organization that teaches moral and core values that can be used to be successful in life. Boy scouts programs emphasize many important life lessons including teamwork – something that I always share with my team.”
The awards dinner honors prominent area leaders who have given leadership in the area of business and professional community while serving as exemplary role models for the youth.
It also serves as a fundraising event to support special outreach programs of the Baltimore Area Council for at-risk youth of Baltimore City and Central Maryland.
“We have great football fans in our community,” said Durkin. “They are very knowledgeable and supportive of the program. We will work hard and always give the maximum effort to our academics and will be competitive and passionate on the field.”
