Junior attacker Megan Whittle was selected as the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Player of the Week Wednesday night.
Whittle was also named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Terps to a pair of wins over top-ten foes last week. Whittle finished the week with 10 points, seven goals and three assists, notching four goals against No. 8 Penn and three against No. 4 JMU. In front of a record crowd against No. 4 James Madison on Saturday, Whittle notched her 250th goal of the season with a second-half tally.
On the season, Whittle leads the Terps with 36 goals, and ranks second with 10 assists to also lead the team with 46 points.
This week, Whittle and No. 2 Maryland will take on No. 24 Georgetown on Wednesday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. and Michigan on Saturday, March 31 at noon.
