General Information

Prohibited in XFINITY Center

The Big Ten promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. We request your cooperation in helping to maintain a family-friendly environment for fans of all ages, and in supporting the student-athletes, coaches and officials in a positive manner. Profanity or actions to incite, intimidate or threaten others will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. The list of items and/or activities prohibited during athletic competitions and events include but are not limited to:

  • Pets*
  • Outside Food or Drink of any kind*
  • Illegal Substances
  • Fireworks / Firearms
  • Weapons (both real and facsimiles)
  • Flammables of any kind
  • Laser Pointers
  • Artificial Noisemakers
  • Strollers
  • Skateboards / Bicycles
  • Dangerous or Disruptive Behavior
  • Signage, Apparel or other Items that display, depict or represent recognizable symbols and/or words, including nooses and swastikas, that incite, intimidate, or threaten members of the University of Maryland community.
  • Any Items Resembling a Pole or Stick
  • Smoking
  • Soliciting / Loitering / Trespassing
  • Video Cameras
  • Umbrellas
  • Backpacks / Bags that are not clear and over 12" x 6" x 12". Please refer to Bag Policy for more information.
  • Resale of Ticket
  • Pass-Outs / Re-Entry
  • Any other items or actions deemed dangerous or disruptive to the fan experience

*Exceptions will be made for those with medical requirements and/or special needs.

Directions to XFINITY Center


FROM BALTIMORE AND POINTS NORTH

  • Take I-95 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495 West).
  • Take Exit 27 and then follow signs to Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately one mile south on Route 1; take the exit for 193 West (University Boulevard).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your right.

FROM VIRGINIA AND POINTS SOUTH

  • Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Continue north on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately one mile south on Route 1; take the exit for 193 West (University Boulevard).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your right.

FROM VIRGINIA AND POINTS WEST

  • Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately one mile south on Route 1; take the exit for 193 West (University Boulevard).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your right.

FROM ANNAPOLIS AND POINTS EAST

  • Take U.S. 50 West to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Go north on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately one mile south on Route 1; take the exit for 193 West (University Boulevard).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your right.

FROM WASHINGTON, D.C. (NORTHWEST/SOUTHWEST)

  • Take 16th St. North which becomes Georgia Avenue North at the Maryland/D.C. line.
  • Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately one mile south on Route 1; take the exit for 193 West (University Boulevard).
  • At the first light, turn left onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your right.

FROM WASHINGTON, D.C. (NORTHEAST/SOUTHEAST)

  • Take Rhode Island Avenue (U.S. 1 North) which becomes Baltimore Avenue North at the Maryland/D.C. line.
  • Proceed through the city of College Park.
  • Turn left at the main entrance (the intersection of Route 1 and Paint Branch Parkway).
  • Take the immediate right onto Paint Branch Drive.
  • The XFINITY Center will be on your left.

Parking


Game Day Parking Permits

We encourage all attendees to purchase game day parking permits in advance. There are 8 parking lots and 3 garages available for basketball fans who purchase parking permits in advance. Fans who arrive on campus on game day without a parking permit will only be able to purchase parking at Stadium Drive Garage or may park for free in Lot 1. The cost of a single game permits is $17 and may only be purchased using credit/debit. Shuttle services are available from Lot 1 and SDG.

Anyone planning to park on campus can pre-purchase a parking permit, purchase parking at Stadium Drive Garage upon arrival, or park for free in Lot 1. 

Parking Regulations

XFINITY Center Lots that are impacted by Men's Home Basketball Games are 4b, 6, 9b, 11b, FF, NN, P1, P2, UU, XVL, XX1, Regents Drive Garage, and Stadium Drive Garage. These lots are closed four hours prior to tipoff and require a game day permit to enter. Faculty and Staff may continue to access their lot.

Non-Conference Games

Those parked in lots 4, 6, 9, 11 four hours prior to tipoff are NOT required to move their vehicles. Registrants in these lots attempting to park within four hours before until one hour after tipoff will be redirected to Lot 1.  Faculty and Staff may continue to access their lot.

Any vehicles parked within the 4b Director's Circle spaces or the TTG* reserve will be cited and relocated. 

Conference Games

Commuters and visitors parked in lots 4, 6, 9, 11,  move their vehicles three hours prior to tipoff. The resident students with resident UMCP permits parked in lots 6 and 11 do not have to move. Vehicles that must relocate but fail to do so will be cited and relocated. Parking will be available to registrants in Lot 1. Faculty and Staff with UMCP faculty/staff permits are not required to relocate.

Lot 5, (previously lot 4j) is no longer a basketball parking lot. Lot 5 is a 24hr restricted Resident student lot.

Any vehicles parked within the 4b Director's Circle spaces or the TTG* reserve will be cited and relocated. 

Relocated vehicles will be towed to lot NN behind the Chesapeake Building. 4b director's circle are relocated to non-Director's Circle 4b spaces.

Important:
While basketball games cause substantial changes to parking arrangements, bear in mind that other athletic events may also cause changes. Please refer to the athletic calendar for game schedules.Â
