LAST TIME OUT: Sonia Chase hit the game winning shot with 5.3 second left to give the Terps a 54-53 win over 13th-ranked Duke Friday night, snapping the Blue Devils' four-game winning streak. Duke led 53-52 when Hilary Howard missed the front end of a 1-and-1. Maryland got the rebound with 12 seconds left and Chase nailed the 15-foot jumper to lift the Terps to victory. Chase finished the game with 18 points and Stephanie Cross chipped in 10. Maryland's defense held Duke to a season-low 15 points in the second half.
CHASE HONORED AS ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sonia Chase averaged 15 points, shooting .600 from the field, to lead the Terps to wins over Georgia Tech, 68-57, and 13th-ranked Duke, 54-53, last week. Against the Blue Devils, Chase scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and contributed three assists and three steals. Against Georgia Tech, the Baltimore native posted a 12-point, eight rebound effort.
THREE-PEAT: With Maryland's win over Duke on Friday, the Terps have defeated a ranked Blue Devil team three times in the last three season. Since the 1985-86 season, the Terps have defeated a ranked Duke team five times.
FROM THE LINE: Maryland has shot 64.9 percent from the free throw line in its last four games, compared to the opposition's mark of 53.2 percent. The Terps have attempted 27 more shots from the charity stripe.

NOT MUCH CHARITY FROM DUKE: The Terps attempted a season-low seven free throws against the Blue Devils Friday night. Maryland's previous low for the season was 12 attempts against Loyola on Nov. 19.
CRASHING THE BOARDS: In their last two games, the Terps have outrebounded their opponent by a count of 70-57. Maryland's 16 offensive rebounds against Duke was the most since the Wake Forest game on Jan. 4. In that game against the Deacs, the Terps recorded 16 offensive boards. Maryland's season-high offensive rebound total is 23 against Hampton.
GETTING CLOSE: Sophomore guard Tiffany Brown converted two three-pointers against Georgia Tech to bring her career total to 75, tying her with Carla Holmes for the top spot all-time at Maryland. She holds the all-time mark for three-point attempts with 239. Brown eclipsed the 199 career mark for attempts held by Carla Holmes (1988-91) against Clemson on Jan. 11.
RAINING THREES: Tiffany Brown, fully recovered from knee surgery, has nearly tripled her three-point production in her last six games compared to the first 10 games she played this season.

MARYLAND: Maryland enters tonight's game with an overall record of 12-8 and a conference mark of 5-5. The Terps defeated 13th-ranked Duke, 54-53, last Friday at Cole Field House for their second consecutive win against a team ranked in the Top 15. In addition to beating Duke, Maryland defeated then-No. 7 North Carolina, 84-62, on Jan. 18.
WAKE FOREST: Wake Forest enters tonight's game with an overall record of 4-17 and a conference mark of 0-11. The Deacs have lost 10 consecutive games, including seven to teams ranked in the AP Top 25. Heidi Coleman leads the team in scoring with an average of 10.6 points per game, while Emon McMillian is the top rebounder with an average of 7.2 boards per game. Head coach Charlene Curtis is in her first season with the Deacs. Curtis previously coached at Temple (1990-95) and Radford (1984-90).
