TOTM - Test
Each month, Maryland Athletics selects a "Terp of the Month," awarded to an employee who has been nominated by his/her colleagues. Terp of the Month winners demonstrate their commitment to ONE MARYLAND by leading boldly, enhancing student-centered environment and inspiring pride. These Terps have a positive attitude toward work responsibilities and co-workers, serve as role models to others, and have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
While all employees who are nominated are recognized, the selected winner also receives a Maryland championship belt to display in their office for that month. At the end of the year, employees vote for a Terp of the Year, with over 150 votes placed last year!
Terp of the Month - September
Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition
Paula volunteered to lead the VoTerp Education Subcommittee when it was created over the summer. She has worked tirelessly and diligently to help shape the group, and point it in the right direction for the purpose of educating student-athletes and staff about issues related to voting. There was no template for this initiative and Paula kept the group focused and pushing towards election day.
Paula helped foster an environment of collaboration and inclusivity to help accomplish the goal of educating student-athletes and staff about voter registration. She encouraged education committee members who were passionate about certain topics to be more involved in those areas which, in turn, benefited all of us. She always kept everyone in the loop and made sure deadlines and assigned tasks were communicated in an efficient and effective way. The way she led the committee inspired pride, and was always student-centered.

Matt has served in multiple roles in our athletics department since joining Maryland in 2008. At the time he received this award, he served as our Associate Athletic DirectorHe is a graduate of Robert Morris University and spent time at Marshall University and the University of Pittsburgh before becoming a Terp. Matt's favorite thing about Maryland is watching our student-athletes compete!
