Through service learning and engagement, the Share the Shell program will provide a platform for University of Maryland student-athletes and staff to make a lasting impact on the community.

- Using a variety of platforms, develop a plan to communicate internally and externally about program successes and community service and service-learning opportunities
- Assist student-athletes and teams in identifying and supporting causes important to them
SAAC Initiatives
Terpsgiving SAAC Canned Food Drive
SAAC partnered with the Office of Community Engagement to help decrease food insecurity on their campus and in the community. The goal was for the student-athletes on various teams to work together and to reach at least 1,000 donations between all the teams.Terpsgiving 2022
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Drive
Maryland Athletics partners with Prince George's Child Resource Center (PGCRC) to provide holiday presents to families in need. PGCRC sends over holiday wish lists from various families in need to Maryland athletics student-athletes and staff. The individual teams pool money together and then actually go out to the stores and purchase the respective gifts, which often include anything from toys, to winter gear, to school supplies. There is then a SAAC Wrapping Party that comes after the gifts have been bought. Over 50 student-athletes gathered to wrap the gifts that were purchased so they could be properly delivered in the holiday spirit.Adopt-A-Family 2022
