The University of Maryland Cheerleaders provide fan support, crowd leadership and spirit to more than 55,000 fans. They support football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, olympic sports and attend several appearances and events on behalf of the University, totaling more than 150 games and events per year.
The highlights of each season include traveling around the Big Ten and experiencing the Terps on the road. Supporting Maryland teams across the country with Bowl Games, Big Ten Tournaments, and NCAA Tournaments. Not only are the Cheerleaders athletes, but they are also ambassadors who represent the University of Maryland with pride on and off the field or court.
The University of Maryland cheerleading team holds six National Cheerleading Association College National Championships ('99,'06,'07,'08,'10,'13).
The team represents the University at a Collegiate National Cheerleading Championship. Competing against the top division 1A teams for the title of national champions.
