Photography Assistant - Maryland Athletics
The University of Maryland Athletics Department is seeking qualified applications for the position of Photography Assistant. The position will work as a member of the Strategic Communications & Content Development unit.
Responsibilities: Among the tasks, this position will be charged with include:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required in photography, photojournalism, communications or related field. Candidates must have outstanding photographic skills and interpersonal skills as well as knowledge of social media and digital platforms. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and available to travel.
Compensation: This is a contract position that is paid at an hourly rate of $18 for 40 hours per week with the potential to earn overtime pay. Position begins as early as July 1, 2025 and runs through June 30, 2026. This position does not include benefits. Total compensation potential ranges from $37,000-42,000.

- Photograph game action for all teams
- Photograph and assist with studio/portrait photoshoots (including setup/takedown)
- Photograph recruiting photoshoots
- Edit and upload photos to various platforms for distribution
- Build online photo galleries
- Assist with social media
- Apply appropriate metadata and archive photos
- Other duties as assigned
