Dean Schiller enters his first season as an assistant coach with Maryland Field Hockey in 2026, returning to College Park after an accomplished playing and coaching career in the United States and abroad.
Schiller brings extensive international playing experience to the Maryland coaching staff. He represented the United States at the U16, U18 and U21 levels before joining the U.S. Men’s National Team, where he competed from 2022-25.
Following his graduation from Maryland in 2023, Schiller continued his coaching career at the University of Durham in England while completing postgraduate studies. He also served as a coach at the 2026 Indoor World Cup in Nottingham.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Schiller attended Alexandria City High School and has strong ties to the DMV. He returns to Maryland with a focus on player development and brings experience from both the domestic and international levels of the game.
