Terrapin alumna Kasey Tapman Asper enters her fifth season with the Terps and first as the Associate Head Coach in 2025 after Head coach
Missy Meharg welcomed her staff as an assistant coach in June of 2021. Tapman Asper played for the Terrapins from 2011-15 and was on the Terps' 2011 NCAA Championship squad.
Tapman Asper, a native of Pocomoke City, Md., served as the Terrapins’ volunteer assistant coach through the 2018 and 2019 seasons, helping to break down game film, working with the defensive penalty corner unit and assisting with travel and camps.
In 2022, Tapman Asper played a key role as a part of the Terrapin staff that helped Maryland to a 19-4 record, Big Ten Championship and NCAA Final Four appearance. In her first season as an assistant coach in College Park, Tapman Asper helped the Terrapins to a record of 15-7, including seven wins over ranked teams, and an appearance in the NCAA Final Four.
In her playing career at Maryland, Tapman Asper played in 77 games and served as team captain her senior year. Tapman Asper won three major championships in her career: 2011 National Championship, 2013 ACC Championship , and a 2015 Big Ten Championship.
Tapman Asper was a part of the US Women’s National Development squad from 2017-2021. Where she was selected to Captain the team in 2018. She also a part of the US Women’s National Indoor squad from 2019-2021. Earning a gold medal at the 2021 Pan-American Indoor games.
Tapman Asper also coached with a local club program, Freedom HKY, directing the U14, U16 and U19 groups. In January 2020, she started her own business UnTapped Talent LLC, a program that runs local clinics and camps around the Maryland area.
Tapman Asper earned her degree in kinesiology in 2015. Earning her Master of Science in Strategic Communications at the University of Maryland Global Campus. She is married to former 2x-All American Terrapins wrestler, Josh Asper.
