Alex Grant joined the Maryland staff as the Creative Director for Football prior to the start of the 2020 season. Grant comes to the DMV from the University of South Carolina.Â
At South Carolina, Grant joined the Gamecocks New and Creative Media department in January of 2017 and served as a producer of marketing, in-venue, social media and feature video content. Grant was the primary content creator for women’s basketball and softball. He was also the producer of Gamecock Football with Will Muschamp and the Gamecock Insider television shows. Alongside his many duties in content creation, Grant additionally assisted in the managing and training of student production assistants for New and Creative Media.

Prior to that role, Grant served as a Production Assistant for Gamecock Productions from June 2013 to December 2016. In that capacity, he produced game highlights, hype videos, social media, web, television and videoboard content for South Carolina Athletics.Â

In the summer of 2015, Grant served as an ESPN Programming and Acquisitions Digital Media summer intern. There he assisted with content management on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN application. He was tasked with scheduling all ESPN3 broadcasts of NCAA Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball and Field Hockey for the fall of that year.

Grant, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, finished with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism in May of 2016. He is notably a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.Â
Grants honors include being the recipient of the 2017 Southeastern Emmy Award for best sports program series, the 2017 Sports Video Group Outstanding Program Series and being named to the 2019Â Columbia Business Monthly Best and Brightest (35 and Under).
