The Breakdown: A picture of consistency on the right side of Maryland's back line, Di Rosa has emerged as one of the top outside backs in the country heading into his final season. Always solid in the defensive third with his speed and positioning, Di Rosa contributed more in the attack as a junior with a goal and two assists. He was one of the top players in the 2018 College Cup, earning All-Tournament honors after a sensational weekend of defending.Â
As a Senior (2020-21): Trained with the Terps in the fall of 2020 after season was postponed due the COVID-19 pandemic...departed the program in Feb. 2021Â after being selected in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft.
As a Junior (2019): Started all 21 matches for the Terps at right back...notched a goal and two assists...played 1,741 minutes...helped the Terps notch 11 clean sheets...scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Villanova (9/16)...helped the Terps notched clean sheets against USF (8/30), Akron (9/13), Villanova (9/16), St. John's (9/23), Wisconsin (9/27), Cal State Fullerton (10/5), Indiana (10/18), Yale (10/21), Ohio State (10/25), Northwestern (11/10), Iona (11/21)...notched two assists against Michigan in a 4-2 loss (11/3).
As a Sophomore (2018): Played in 19 matches and started 13 in Maryland's National Championship season...notched a goal in 1,257 minutes...played mainly at right back...named to the College Cup All-Tournament team for his standout defensive performance in the Final Four...part of a Maryland back line that did not allow a goal in the entirety of the NCAA Tournament...an All-Big Ten Academic selection...started the first four matches of the season at Washington (8/24), vs. Stanford (8/31), vs. Virginia (9/3) and against UCLA (9/8)...started against Wisconsin (9/21)...started and played 95 minutes at Georgetown (10/8)...came off the bench for five matches before returning to start the Big Ten Quarterfinals at Michigan State (11/4)...played 110 minutes and scored a goal in a 1-1 draw against Indiana in the Big Ten semifinals (11/9)...started and played all 90 minutes in all five of Maryland's NCAA Tournament matches.Â
As a Freshman (2017):Â Appeared in 14 matches with three starts...made his Maryland debut with 18 minutes off the bench against Santa Clara (8/25)...played 45 minutes in his first start of his career against Cal Poly (9/4)...played 97 minutes in a road start against No. 6 Michigan State (9/22)...started and played 81 minutes against Georgetown (10/17)...appeared in Maryland's first round NCAA Tournament match against Albany (11/16)...helped the Terps start 10-0-3 and notch nine total shutouts.
Before Maryland: Four-year starter for Bethesda Academy…helped lead team to playoffs his freshman and sophomore years…participant in U.S. Soccer regional training centers.
