Matt McKelvey is in his first year as the athletic trainer for the University of Maryland’s men’s soccer program.  McKelvey came to Maryland after three years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Lake Superior State University (LSSU), where he worked with the Division I men’s ice hockey team, as well as softball, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s golf.

Prior to LSSU, McKelvey spent five years at The Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, DC.  At CUA, he served as the athletic trainer for men’s soccer, field hockey, women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, and softball. 

McKelvey earned his bachelor of arts in athletic training from Albion College in 2005 and his masters of science degree in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania.  McKelvey is also an NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist.

McKelvey currently resides in Silver Spring, MD with his wife Diana.
