As a Redshirt Senior (2020): Had his most productive season as a Terp, playing in all 11 matches while starting five...scored a goal and notched an assist..Academic All-Big Ten selection...Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.

As a Redshirt Junior (2019): Played in 14 matches as an attacking option off the bench for the Terps...played 159 minutes...notched one shot...played a season-high 29 minutes in the Terps' second round NCAA Tournament match at Wake Forest (11/24)....Academic All-Big Ten selection.

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2018): Played in five matches in Maryland's National Championship season...notched a goal in 52 total minutes...made his season debut with 24 minutes at Northwestern (9/14)...played 17 minutes at Rutgers (9/26)...played three minutes at Georgetown (10/8)...scored his first career goal in an eight-minute appearance against Ohio State (10/19)...took a penalty kick in the Big Ten semifinals against Indiana (11/9)...Academic All-Big Ten selection 

As a Redshirt Freshman (2017): Appeared in three matches...made his Maryland debut with 18 minutes against Cal Poly (9/4)...appeared against Northwestern (9/29)...started the second half and played a career high 21 minutes against Coastal Carolina (10/20)....Academic All-Big Ten selection. 

As a Freshman (2016): Did not appear in game action.

Before Maryland: Led River Hill HS to the 2015 Maryland State Championship in 2015 and captured regional titles in both 2014 and 2015…tabbed to the 2015 High School All-American Game…NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region in 2014 and 2015…All-State selection in 2014 and 2015..2014 Howard County Player of the Year…two-time Baltimore Sun All-Metro Team and Washington Post All-Metro Team…Severna Park Fever was U17 and U18 Maryland State Champions and ranked top 20 in the nation…also lettered three seasons in basketball…enrolled during the spring semester of 2016.

Personal: Michael Heitzmann was born July 3, 1997…son of Larry and Teresa Heitzmann…brother, Joe and sister, Kaitlyn…named to Dean’s List all four years in high school…lists biggest sports thrill as winning the state championship…major is finance.
