Head Coach Kelly Hovland named Amanda Hollandsworth as Assistant Coach on May 16, 2022. Hollandsworth is beginning her second year as a full-time assistant coach in 2023 after she served as interim assistant coach for the Maryland women’s golf program from November 2021 to May 2022.
During the 2022-23 season, assisted head coach Kelly Hovland in leading the No. 33 Terps to six top-five team finishes, including coaching to Patricie Mackova to her first collegiate victory at the Yale Invitational, a fourth place team finish at the Big Ten Championship, and a NCAA Regionals appearance in Athens, Ga.
The Floyd, Virginia native played Division I golf at Virginia Tech from 2014-19, completing her collegiate career with Hokies with 14 top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at The Blessings Golf Club.
Hollandsworth turned pro in May 2019 after completing her graduate degree. She’s played in the 2019 U.S Women’s Open. She currently competes on the Epson Tour (formerly the Symetra Tour), the official qualifying tour of the LPGA Tour. Holllandsworth’s rookie year was 2020.
Hollandsworth holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and a master’s in Applied Nutrition and Physical Activity from Virginia Tech.
Amanda has ties to Maryland; her older sister Jessica Hollandsworth who played for Maryland from 2008-12, was a three-time All-ACC Selection and is ranked 6th on the career scoring average for the Terrapins.
