Before Maryland: Competed at Rochester Gymnastics Academy in Rochester, N.Y. for four years… four time Junior Olympics National Qualifier, most recently in 2014… level nine Eastern National Vault Champion… placed fifth on beam in the 2010 Junior Olympic National competition… won New York State beam title in 2010… won all-around competition in 2010 New York State competition.

Personal: Attended Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester, N.Y…. parents are Tom and Karen Gurnett… biology major and psychology minor.
