Joe Wurtenberg was announced as Maryland Women's Soccer's Director of Analytics in August 2023.
Wurtenberg comes to Maryland after being the First Team Analysis Intern for FC Cincinnati. In this role Wurtenberg built pre-match data reports on the opposing team styles and set pieces. Wurtenberg all oversaw the creation of post-match data reports for the first team coaching staff. Wurtenber's implementation of various analytics helped FC Cincinnati reach the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Before working at FC Cincinnati, Wurtenberg worked as the Student Manager and Director of Analytics at Xavier University. Wurtenberg oversaw all GPS Data on Gametraka software for player performance throughout season. While at Xavier, Wurtenberg was a member of the 2021 Big East Coaching Staff of the year and helped win the 2021 Big East regular Season Championship.
The Blue Bell, Pennsylvania native graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management with a Minor in Finance and Business from Xavier University in 2022.
