Kirsten Peterman, a Canadian native, joined the Maryland Intercollegiate Athletics Department as the Academic Management Intern on July 1st, 2021.
Peterman graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2019), before earning her Master of Arts in Kinesiology, with a focus in cognitive motor neuroscience (2021). Peterman graduated as a B1G Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-American. While earning her graduate degree, Peterman served as a teaching assistant for a physical activity class offered to undergraduate students and conducted in research that led to a thesis observing the impact of COVID-19 on anxiety within NCAA student-athletes compared to non-athlete university students.
Additionally, Peterman was a former member of the Canadian National Gymnastics Team where she competed at the 2014 World Championships and 2016 Olympic Trials, as well as a collegiate student-athlete at the University of Maryland from 2016-2020.
