Becca Acevedo

Becca Acevedo is entering her fifth season in College Park in 2025 after being named assistant coach on July 15, 2021.

Since 2016, Acevedo has coached within the USA Volleyball High Performance Pipeline. She has worked with some of the nation’s most talented junior volleyball players and has worked with the National Team Development Program (NTDP) since its founding in 2021, most recently serving as an assistant coach for the program's U15-17 squad in July 2023. 

Before joining Maryland, Acevedo served as the Winthrop's defensive coordinator from 2018-21 and worked with the University of West Florida for a two-year stint from 2016-18. Displaying her defensive proficiency, Acevedo coached the Argonauts' libero Logan Kael to AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year and Gulf South Conference Co-Freshman of the Year honors in 2017.

Acevedo was a volleyball student-athlete at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she was a three-time AVCA All-American, a three-time Independents Collegiate Athletic Association Setter of the Year and led the Sailfish to three NCAA Regional appearances. She was also a three-time AVCA All-Region first team performer, and was a Daktronics All-Region First Team selection twice. Racking up 5,194 career assists, Acevedo was one of the nation’s best setters as a three-time Independents Collegiate Athletic Association Setter of the Year.
