  • 2025 Academic All-Big Ten
  • 2025 Tom Norris Unsung Hero Award

2024-25 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN):
  • Posted seven wins with six wins by decision and one major decision win. 
  • Has wrestled in four duals, bumping up to 149 vs. Morgan State and coming away with a 2-0 win.
  • Sixth place at 141 at 2024 Tiger Style Invite (11/9).
  • Also wrested at the Patriot Open (12/8).

2023-24 (FRESHMAN):
  • Finished redshirt season with a 13-10 overall record, competing in the Southeast Open, Tiger Style Invite, George Mason Patriot Open, F&M Open and Edinboro Open
  • Made Maryland dual debut in season finale vs. Drexel (2/23)

BEFORE MARYLAND:
  • Wrestled at South Carroll High School.
  • 3x Maryland State Champion.
  • 2x NHSCA All American.
  • 2022 Maryland Lightweight Wrestler of the Year.
PERSONAL:

Head coach Alex Clemsen on Pizzuto: "Michael is a coach's dream. I cannot wait to get him in the XFINITY Center. He reminds me a lot of a few of my favorite former wrestlers. He is the best public school kid in the state and he belongs at UMD. I'm looking forward to having his leadership and intangibles added to our young group."
