Sam joined the University of Maryland Athletics Department in April 2012 as the Director of Information Technology. As the Director of IT, he oversees strategic planning to provide self-enabling , cost-effective, and enterprise solutions for the coaches, staff, student-athletes, and patrons of Maryland Athletics. Sam has spent over 18 years providing enterprise solutions for private industries, commercial industries, and now higher education.

Prior to joining the Maryland Athletic Family, Sam played a key role in implementing the campus wide Managed PKI solution. This solution was quickly adopted and continues to be used by departments and colleges across the campus.

Sam is a member of the Microsoft International Customer Advisory Board. He has also been a board member for Digicert security customer advisory.

More than technology, Sam loves to serve in his church and spend time with his wife and two boys.
