Brady Ruth joined the Maryland family in August 2025 and currently serves as the Terps' staff writer and wrestling sports information assistant.
In his roles, Brady produces game recaps, press releases, feature stories and more for Maryland's teams and student-athletes. During the 2025-26 athletic season, he wrote more than 400 pieces, including 312 recaps and 50 student-athlete features. Brady is the primary contact for Maryland wrestling and oversees communications for Coach Clemsen's program.
An award-winning writer, Brady earned a 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Fred Stabley Sr. District Writing Award for his "Everyone's Friend" story and received two additional runner-up honors.
Prior to joining Maryland, Brady graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism and a minor in ethics. After receiving his diploma in June 2025, he moved 3,000 miles across the country to College Park while remaining in the Big Ten Conference.
While in Eugene, Brady wrote for The Daily Emerald, the university's student-run newspaper, for four years. He covered Oregon football, baseball, softball, women's basketball, men's basketball and women's tennis.
Brady managed the paper's sports desk during his junior and senior years, which coincided with Oregon's final season in the Pac-12 and first season in the Big Ten, respectively. During his time as editor, he traveled to cover a Rose Bowl Game, two Pac-12 Football Championship Games, a Big Ten Football Championship Game, a Pac-12 Baseball Tournament, a Big Ten Baseball Tournament and numerous other road contests.
Brady is a Colorado native and a diehard fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals and Colorado Avalanche.
Brady and his fiancée, Thalia, reside in Laurel, Maryland, with their turtle, Leo. They are eagerly anticipating their wedding in July 2026.
