Cole Matthews joins the Maryland Wrestling program as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach ahead of the 2024-25 season after an illustrious six-year career at Pittsburgh where he asserted himself as one of the top 141-pounders in the nation. 

Matthews won over 100 matches in his career, qualified for NCAAs in his final five seasons, and reached All-American status in 2022 when he finished in fifth place. Matthews also won two ACC Championships (2022 & 2023) and was the USA U23 Freestyle World Team Trials Champion (2022).
