Halley Koras joined the University of Maryland Athletic Department as an Assistant Academic Coordinator in January 2026 before transitioning into her current role as an Athletic Academic Advisor in September 2026. In her role with the Gossett Student-Athlete Center, Koras’s approach centers on building strong relationships, creating structure, and providing individualized support to help student-athletes develop the skills, confidence, and accountability needed to succeed both academically and athletically.
A former Division I student-athlete, Koras competed in women’s lacrosse at Towson University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education from Towson. Her experience balancing the academic and athletic demands of collegiate athletics has shaped her passion for supporting student-athletes and helping them successfully navigate their own academic and athletic journeys.
Koras is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Educational Technology at Towson University while continuing her work in collegiate athletics. Outside of work and school, she enjoys baking, time with friends and family, staying active, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
