The Lynchburg, Virginia native played Division I golf at Virginia from 2018-22, completing his collegiate career with the Cavaliers with three top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate.

"I am thrilled to have Jimmie join our program as Assistant Coach.  He is a strong leader with a great passion for the game of golf," said head coach Phillips. "I have been fortunate enough to see him grow and develop over the years, and I'm excited that our student-athletes will have the opportunity to work with him."

He was also the team captain and a student-athlete advisory committee member.

"I am incredibly grateful and honored to join the University of Maryland's coaching staff and serve alongside Coach Phillips," said assistant coach Jimmie Massie. "Having been coached by him throughout my own collegiate golf career, I am thrilled at the opportunity to work alongside him.
