Josh Gjormand joined Maryland baseball over the 2025 summer as he enters his second season as Director of Player Development. Gjormand played four years of collegiate baseball at the University of Lynchburg before playing a graduate season at Eastern Mennonite University.
In his first season, Gjordmand helped lead the Terrapins to a 27-29 record in 2026. In the regular season, the Terps led the Big Ten in runs scored, home runs, OBP, total bases, slugging percentage, RBI, walks, and OPS. The Terrapins finished third in the nation in walks at the end of the regular season. Gjormand coached Maryland to it's 2,000th win in program history in an eventful victory over Indiana on April 12. Maryland picked up a ranked win over #12 USC on May 28. Brayden Martin was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team and three Terps made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team: Ty Kaunas, Bud Coombs and Ryan Costello.
As a senior at Lynchburg in 2023, Gjormand led the team with a .392 batting average and was named All-ODAC Third Team and VSID Second Team All-State. In 2022, he hit .347 in 30 games for Lynchburg and started the season with a nine-game hitting streak from Mar. 19 - Apr. 6. In Gjorman's final year at EMU, he posted a record of 5-2 on the mound, leading the team in ERA (5.68), innings pitched (63.1), and strikeouts (35). Batted .244 at the plate with 11 hits and a double.
