Kayla Hackenberg was named the Director of Basketball Administration and Head Coach Operations in July 2025.

She joined head coach Buzz Williams’ staff after spending 11 years working with the Ohio State football program including the previous five as the Assistant Director of Football Operations and Administration. In her time with the Buckeyes, Hackenberg was responsible in the areas of camps and clinics, travel and as a liaison to the program for former players along with coaches, staff, families, and NFL personnel. She also managed student interns and coordinated special events.

In her administrative/operations role, Hackenberg is responsible in the areas of camps and clinics, travel and as a liaison to the program for former players along with coaches, staff, families, and NFL personnel. She also manages the student interns and coordinates special events such as senior lunch, captains dinner, spring game BBQ and golf outings.

Hackenberg is from Hartville, Ohio, and attended Lake High School before attending Ohio State, where she graduated in 2018 with her degree in education. She worked with the Triple AAA Columbus Clippers while she was a student.
