Liz Cardinale was hired as the Assistant Director of Compliance in November 2025. She currently oversees all compliance responsibilities for Field Hockey, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Tennis, Women's Cross Country, Women's Track & Field & Men's Track & Field at UMD.
Prior to joining the UMD Compliance staff, Cardinale was the Assistant Director of Compliance at Loyola University of Maryland from January 2023 to October 2025. In this role she worked on compliance matters with all of Loyola's 18 NCAA D1 teams.
Cardinale is a graduate from both University of Delaware where she earned her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice & Sociology and from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law where she earned her juris doctor (J.D.). She is also a licensed attorney in the state of Maryland.
