Omari DeBerry was named Director of Development Initiatives at Maryland in March 2025. Previously, he served as the Director for Name, Image, and Likeness Services at Maryland from April 2024 until assuming his new role.
In his current position, DeBerry collaborates with both the Terrapin Club and the M Club to enhance and develop donor support for Maryland Athletics. He is primarily responsible for increasing support among Maryland's younger donor base, engaging with letter winners, and assisting development officers with major and principal gifts.
In his previous role, DeBerry was the main point of contact for Maryland's Name, Image, and Likeness initiatives, working closely on a daily basis with Maryland student-athletes, coaches, and NIL-related partners.
DeBerry is a former lacrosse student-athlete, having played on the Ohio State Men’s Lacrosse team from 2018 to 2021. He graduated from the university as a scholar-athlete, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Industry and a Master’s degree in Sport Management.
Before his roles at Maryland, DeBerry served as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development and NIL and Program Manager of Student-Athlete Development at Ohio State University.
