Shanice Abrams is currently the Director of Facilities, Operations, and Events overseeing the football, men’s lacrosse, and tennis programs. She enters her second school year in that role in 2024-25.
Prior to Maryland, Abrams worked as a district wide athletic director for the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association (DCIAA). While there, Abrams was specifically responsible for the soccer, cross country, and indoor and outdoor track and field programs for over 100 elementary, middle and high schools in the D.C Public School system. During her seven year tenure at the DCIAA, she was able to enhance their social media presence, start a prominent internship program, as well as excel the passion of both the coaches and student athletes within the sports she oversaw.
Before going to D.C., Abrams worked at numerous NCAA institutions. These institutions include, Florida A&M University, University of Central Florida, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and Morgan State University.
Abrams earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Administration from Morgan State University in 2009 and her Masters degree in Athletic Program Leadership from Goucher College in 2011.
