Stacey Jones, SHRM-CP, was appointed Director of Human Resources for Maryland Athletics in March 2023. A certified human resources executive with over 30 years of experience, Jones has become a vital strategic partner within the department since joining the Terps in February 2022.
As Director, Jones leads all essential HR functions, including benefits administration, and talent acquisition. Her expertise is currently critical in managing the department’s coaching and executive contract processing, where she serves as a key administrative bridge during leadership transitions.
Driving impact beyond core HR functions, Jones serves as a strategic partner for the department’s culture. She leads Search Committee Charges for all departmental hires, ensuring Maryland Athletics utilizes inclusive practices to attract, develop, and retain championship-level talent.
Prior to her tenure at the University of Maryland, Jones spent nearly three decades as an HR leader at AdvanTech in Annapolis (1993–2022). Her career is defined by a commitment to operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and providing championship-level support to the coaches and staff who power Maryland Athletics.
