Kati Nearhouse

Head coach Missy Meharg welcomed Kati Nearhouse to College Park as the director fo field hockey operations in the spring of 2018.

Nearhouse comes to Maryland after spending the 2017 season as an assistant coach at Bryant. Prior to her time at Bryant, Nearhouse worked for two seasons at her alma mater, Syracuse, as the Director of Operations for field hockey. She played her first three seasons at Old Dominion before transferring to Syracuse to finish her career.

Nearhouse was the Director of Operations for the Orange during their national championship run in 2015. In that role, Nearhouse managed the traveling duties for the team, assisted in recruiting and assisted with the day-to-day managing of the program.

Nearhouse has also gained experience coaching in field hockey camps throughout the east coast, spending time at All-American Field Hockey Camps and working with the USA Field Hockey Futures for two years. She also helped run Old Dominion Summer Camps during her time in Norfolk, and recently helped coach field hockey at Bishops Boys School in South Africa.

As a player, Nearhouse was named an NFHCA Division I Second Team All-American after a standout sophomore campaign in 2011. That season, she started 25 games and tallied 21 points off eight goals and five assists, leading the Lady Monarchs to the Final Four.

As a senior at Syracuse, Nearhouse led the Orange to a spot in the 2014 NCAA Championship game, the school's first ever appearance in the title match. For her stellar play in the postseason, Nearhouse was named to both the ACC All-Tournament team and NCAA All-Tournament team.

Nearhouse earned her bachelor's degree in sociology at Syracuse in 2015, as well as her master's degree in school counseling in 2016.
