BUFFALO, N.Y. - Former Maryland men's lacrosse All-Americans Scott Hochstadt Columbia, Md. and Chris Lamy (Linthicum, Md.) were selected in the sixth round of the 1999 National Lacrosse League Draft held at the Marine Midland Arena on Sept. 21.
Hochstadt, who finished his Maryland career with as the fifth all-time leading goal scorer with
121 points, was the 43rd overall selected by the Buffalo Bandits. He led the Terps in goals (30) and points (38) during the 1999 season and was named
an honorable mention USILA All-American. He was named to the ACC
All-Tournament team for the fourth consecutive year.
Lamy, who was a second-team USILA All-American as a senior, was taken by the newly-relocated Pittsburgh franchise which has yet to announce its nickname. The team moved to the Keystone State after playing as the Baltimore Thunder at the Baltimore Arena for the last 10 years.
As a senior in 1999, Lamy started all 14 games, scored the first three goals of his college career, totaled
four points and scooped up 16 groundballs. Lamy was also named to the All-ACC
team.
The Terps finished 9-5 in 1999, keeping alive a streak of never having finished with
less than a .500 record since the varsity program started in 1924.
The 2000 regular season begins on Feb. 27 as the Terps host inter-state rival Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m. at Byrd Stadium.
