COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland/Learfield Sports Radio Network, which includes WBAL (1090-AM) in Baltimore as its flagship station, will carry three Terrapin women's basketball games this season, it was announced this week.
The network and WBAL, which currently carries all Maryland football and men's basketball games, have committed to carrying three early-season road women's basketball games, including the Terps' Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Clemson on Dec. 5. Veteran announcer John Wagner calls the play-by-play.
Besides the Clemson game, the games added to Maryland's radio schedule are Dec. 10 at Penn State and Jan. 8 at Virginia.
In all, 16 Maryland women's basketball games will be broadcast this season. Campus radio station WMUC (88.1-FM and 650-AM) carries 13 regular season home games beginning on Dec. 2 against Western Michigan.
