
Armentano Hired as Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland has announced the hiring of Jeanette Armentano as assistant women's basketball coach. Armentano joins the Maryland coaching staff after serving as an assistant women's basketball coach at Cal State University at Northridge.
Armentano has been at Cal State Northridge since September, 1994, where she served as the first assistant/recruiting coordinator. Her 1995-96 recruiting class ranked 19th in the country in the Blue Star Index, while her 1996-97 recruiting class included the top point guard in the state of California. Prior to her time spent at Cal State Northridge, Armentano was an intern at Rutgers University where she was under the tutelage of Theresa Grentz, the 1992 USA Women's Olympic Basketball coach.
Armentano earned her master's degree in curriculum & development of physical education at Columbia University, and earned her B.S. degree in physical education from Queens College.
Armentano begins her new duties immediately.
