Coach Vanderlinden on this weekend's game at Virginia:
"It is always a big game. Virginia right now is our only focus. We are not looking back to what happened a year ago, we are looking forward to Saturday's game. To dwell on the past in my opinion is a mistake, so what we need to do is to focus on Saturday. We need to improve and pull together and go give a great effort at Virginia. I expect a very competitive game much like the last two years and what we need to do is to find a way to make one more play than they do and win the game. Coach Welsh will have his team ready to play."
Coach Vanderlinden on Virginia quarterback Dan Ellis and the Virginia offense:
"Ellis, their quarterback, is good. He has thrown for a 58 percent completion rate and they like to throw the ball a lot. He has over 1,200 yards passing already and they are averaging 26.4 points per game and over 400 yards per game."
Coach Vanderlinden on Virginia's skill position players:
"They have talented, tall, athletic receivers including Billy McMullen and Kevin Coffey, both of whom are 6-4. Tailback Antwoine Womack is a lot like LaMont, he is 6ft., 215 lbs. He has great lateral movement and is tough physical runner who is averaging over 100 yards per game. Virginia has a very challenging offense for our defense."
Coach Vanderlinden on the Terrapin rushing attack versus Florida State:
"We ran the ball fairly effectively between the tackles. LaMont Jordan is probably one of the few backs over the years to have back-to-back 100-yard plus games against Florida State."
